I always think its strange when some people address females with their given name rather than with their slave name. If I had a choice between calling a girl "Heather" or "Silkycunt" - I'm going to call her "Silkycunt."

I assume there are a couple of things here;

Firstly, if it is a girl that you have known for years, then it maybe a case of automatically calling her by the name you are used to calling her by and you only use the servonym for effect. It is a great way to humiliate, degrade and objectify her.

Secondly, it tends to be done by guys who are confident in their ownership of the girl and have the ego not to require emphasisng what they see as the obvious.

I love the erenischean slave name traditions but I think using the girls real names from time to time makes sense. Think of yourselves. Do you always use the same name for someone we have interavtions with? we use different names sometimes.

I notice that in E books esp. the BG series, every person have their preferred names. Some of her best friends call Maggie Mags or Magster. Peter always call her Maggie when he uses the real name. The principle calls her Margaret. I think this is a great detail often not apreciated.

Also if you only use the servonym it becomes dulled through overuse. It is supposed to be a humiliating reminder of a girls lowered place in society. Using a girls birth name once in a while serves as a reminder of how far she has fallen.

(it is cruel to be kind)

Ok, in BG11 Maggie was called many things besides Cumbunny. Actually Maggie was called Cumbunny only once or may be twice in this comic.

Peter calls her:
Naughty girl, My alarm-whore, Cumbunny, Maggie, good girl, cunt, my sweetie, little sinner, my angelic whore, little girl, my sweet whore, sweetest of whores, my baby, the woman I love

Melanie calls her:
the blonde

Sherry calls her:
Maggie, Mags, Magster, Sexy schoolgirl

Also note that the names reflect the hierarchy in a scene. For example when Peter calls Maggie her real name, he also calls Gwen her servonym. This act makes it clear for Gwen that Maggie is superior to her. I like E's dialogue because words are always well chosen. Even the bad words, they have specific purpose in advancing the story.

But the OP is valid in the erenischverse. The society frowns upon using human names for slavegirls. Quinn judges Peter in BG11 in the bathroom scene and calls Peter a sissy.
